This program is a
partnership between Rotary International
District 6920 Rotary Clubs and MAP International to
provide life saving medicines to indigent population living
in communities served by 62 Rotary clubs in
District 6920. The life saving
medicines are dispensed by participating clinics.
The program's Senior
Technical Adviser, Dr. Miriam Rittmeyer, past president of
Skidaway Island Rotary Club coordinates clinic approval in
partnership with MAP International. Participating Rotary
clubs and District 6920 fund the
program. The District's share of
funding is paid by District Grants
from DDF.
District Designated
Funds (DDF) are
funds that come back to the district/
clubs from the contributions made to the
Rotary Foundation's Annual Fund
three years prior.
Launched in
October 2017, the program has provided access to free
medications to more than 4,900 patients across 6 clinics. A
total of 28 Rotary Clubs are participating and clinic
partners include:
Partnership Health Center
of Valdosta
The Mercy Ministries of Lyons
Diversity Health Center of Hinesville, Ludowici,
and Jesup
St. Vincent De Paul Health Center of Augusta
Coastal Community Health Services of Brunswick
Good Samaritan Clinic at St. Joseph's/
Candler of Savannah
St. Mary's Health Center of Savannah.
